All About Qype

I originally took out a free listing with Qype, but after talking to some of my customers I realised that no-one could leave a review without registering first. This was something that people didn't want to do, oh well it was free. After a while I started to get phone calls from Qype asking me to take out a premium listing. Eventually I gave in and met with a rep, Lisa Gale. I listened to all the sales pitch and hse seemed very genuine. I then asked about the issue that I had with leaving reviews. I was assured that if I took out a premium listing then put a widget on my site people could just click it and leave a review. No registration needed. OK, lets go for it. She then rang the office, in Crawley, and they sent me an email. I was told I need to go onto the email and click the link to activate it. I opened my emails and had a quick look at it. I noticed it said 6 months, when I had only agreed for an innitial term of 3 months. She said it is a generic email, but 3 months will of been noted. So I click the link.

I am then told the guy in charge of my account was Steve Coyle and I should contact him with any problems. About 2 days later my advert went live, great. I had a look at it and the geographical side of it was wrong. I rang Lisa Gayle, but got no reply. So I emailed her twice, both responses being positive, but nothing happened. I rang Steve Coyle and was told he would take care of it. He didn't. I kept emailing and ringing but never got anything from either. I then find out that it is not possible for customers to leave a review without registering first, the complete opposite of what I had been told. I again tried and tried to get hold of both Steve and Lisa, but nothing.

I decide to ring head office 02072917400. I spoke with a lady called Natalie, who's response on the phone when she found out it was Crawley area was "oh no!". She asked me to send over all emails, both sent and recieved which I duly did. I got an email back saying that she was taking my stuff to her boss to have a look at it on Monday morning, she will be back in touch on Monday afternoon. After I enailed Tuesday evening someone got back in touch on Wednesday. Her name is VJ, she told me she had looked at everything and unfortunately there is nothing she can do. I again pointed out the lies about leaving reviews and the wrong geographical location. She said she was sorry but I had to have the advert for 6 months. Hang on 3 months, no, she said I had agreed 6 months. I clicked the link. I told her what was said, and she said she was sorry, but there is nothing she can do.

With this I decided to have alook around on the net and to my horror there are a lot of people that have had exactly the same things done to them. Thios company surely can't keep going on like this.

So what I would like is for people to tell me about the problems that they have had at the hands of Qype. Never before have I been so outraged by a company. I so what to get up a campaign to stop them from duping other companies.
